So, I started the Couch-to-5k program with my neighbors a while back. I was doing pretty well at running 3x a week for a while. Then I had troubles running on Sundays for whatever reason, so I was running 2x a week. Then it got to the point where I was only running 1x a week. So, I decided that I was probably going to walk most of the race.
I wasn't exactly sure how to sign up because it was separate for runners and walkers. I was planning on starting off running and then walking. Russell told me to sign up for the run and that I only had to run the first part and the last part and no one would even know. :-)
We started with 4, but by race day there were only 2 of us able to go. Andrea and I went early to get our T-shirts and bibs, then our husbands were supposed to meet us there. We grab a drink and a snack with the intent of handing it over to one of our hubbys. I was getting nervous about signing up for the run vs the walk because they had completely different bibs and were starting later. Then I saw a lady in a wheelchair with a runners bib on, so felt a little better. I was on the phone with Russell (who was having stroller troubles) when the race started. So, off I went with my Gatorade, banana, and granola bar in hand. This was not motivation to run very far.
So, I ran for a little bit, then walked. I pretty much cursed Russell the entire time because I had the stuff in my hands still. The granola bar did end up in my bra, but the banana was a topic of conversation that I had with some guys who passed me. Oh and the man pushing the lady in the wheelchair FLEW passed me. I finished in just under an hour. I was disappointed. I had hoped I would have done better, but I didn't push at all myself at the end because I was too mad. I'm pretty sure I was the last "runner" to finish. But, I guess the important thing is that I FINISHED. I did see some "walkers" that had to stop, sit on a bench, and have a cigarette (Nice, huh?). The good news is I have my first 5k under my belt and I set the bar pretty low to beat my time for the next race! :-)

Unprompted "I love you"s are the best & rolling part 2
We were sitting in bed this morning and Jameson says "I love Mom" out of the blue! It melted my heart! Best day ever!!!!
Also, Delilah has this rolling thing figured out! She rolled back to tummy today. Look out world, she's on the MOVE!

Moving on up!
Delilah spent her first night in her crib last night. She woke up once around 4am, ate, and went right back to sleep. She slept until around 9am. I call that a success!!

"Mom car" "Dad work" "Me home"...
Two word phrases!!!! Yahoo! Dr. Zimmerman wanted him to start using them by July 4th. We're ahead of schedule. All day, I hear about Mom and Dad's cars. We also have to review who is home and who is at work. Oh and I hear "more wawa" or "wawa peas." It will be so interesting to see what is going on in that little (gigantic) head when he REALLY starts talking - which I'm sure will be any day now! :-)
Oh and the other day he was having a conversation with Addison, one of the neighbor girls. All, I could really catch was "Mom" and "Dad," but it was ADORABLE!!

Back to the grind...
We had some houseguests for the past few days. Russell's Dad and Step-mom visited us all the way from Arizona. The kids had fun playing with their Grandparents from the South. It was nice to see them, but there is something to be said for getting back in the normal routine. The best part of all is Russell and his Dad finished the deck! It only took two years. :-) I am so excited! I foresee some afternoons playing on the deck in our future!
Delilah had her 4 month well-baby check up. She is perfect - of course! She is following in her brothers footsteps with a large head and short height. I think she is higher than him in weight though. She is a healthy girl! Dr. Zimmerman seemed to be impressed with all of D's abilities. She can roll over tummy to back, push her chest up, and hold her head up. The doctor suggested having Delilah upright more so she can see what's going on. It looks like we'll be bringing the Exersaucer back up soon!

4 months!
I can't believe my little baby is 4 months old already!! It is amazing that 1/4 of a year has gone by already! She is showing more and more of her personality everyday. She is such a content little baby, for the most part. She is so curious and likes to look around. She will smile and laugh for us! She really likes when we sing to her! And she really thinks her big brother is hilarious!

Little boy, no more!
So last night, we were outside hanging with the neighbors and Russell was threatening - yet again - that he was going to take the clippers and shave Jameson's head. I gave him my usual answer - Quit threatening it! If you're going to do it, then do it now so it will grow back in time for pictures! The difference this time is that our neighbors were egging him on. So, with Chris's clippers and an audience of neighbors, Jameson got a haircut.
So, after Russell thought he was done, Staci had to help him clean it up. Apparently the clippers struggled to get through his luxuriously thick hair!
He looked like a little monkey with his little round head and all that hair on back and shoulder!
The two monkeys:
So, what's the verdict? This morning, Russell said "I miss his long hair..."
I hope he remembers that!

Give me 5!
Jameson counted to 5 today without being prompted! Every night before bed, we work on counting and the alphabet. I say them and he mimics (as best he can, anyway). Today, I just held up my fingers and he said the numbers himself! Considering not long ago he would only say "Ma" and "Da", I'd say this is progress! :-) I may be partial, but I think he's pretty freaking smart!
