Ephraim is 6 months...and 7 days

 Oh man, I am even further behind on this than I was last month!  Anyway, so much has changed in just a month!!  As you can see, Ephraim can now sit up.  He was pretty wobbly at first, but now he's pretty dang sturdy...unless one of his siblings bowls him over!  He doesn't do so much rolling anymore.  He flips on to his belly and then that little bugger drags himself all across the room.  He wants so badly to keep up with those bigger kids!

Ephraim got his first taste of solid food.  His first bite was of avocado.  Although he made a face, he gobbled it up!  He has pretty much done that with every food he has tried - made a face and scarfed it down!  Come on, does this look like a kid who does like to eat?  So far, he has tried avocado, squash, apples, bananas, and sweet potatoes.  He broke out into a rash the day he tried banana, but I'm going to have to try it again before I'm prepared to rule that he's allergic to it.  This kids now thinks he's ready for steak dinners.  You have to watch him because he'll dive after any food within reach.  He also likes to hold the spoon and really tries to feed himself!

He still adores his big brother and sister.  He'll make little noises to try and get their attention and he's always flashing them his big goofy smile.  They are MUCH more likely to get him into a fit of giggles than his mommy or daddy.  Ephraim is starting to babble.  He's quite the little talker.  Big brother, Jameson, tells us that he's talking already "[Gasp], did you hear that?  He said Jay-Muh-Son!"  I don't hear what J hears just yet, but I doubt it's too long before he's chiming in with the other two!  Oh and Delilah is convinced that he should be talking because he now has teeth - Ephraim has cut 2 teeth already, BTW!

Happy half birthday, Ephraim!

Ephraim is 5 months...and 6 days... :-)

Sorry, things have been a bit hectic and I got a little behind on E's monthly posts.  Eek!  So, as usual, my Buddha buddy is a big guy.  I recently found the stats from Jameson's 9 month appointment.  At that time, J weighed 18.8 lbs.  What??  Ephraim weighs over 19 lbs at 5 months!!  Craziness!  Anyway, as I posted earlier, Ephraim is a rolling fool.  He easily rolls from back to tummy, but he gets frustrated on his belly.  He CAN roll from belly to back, but he has to get mad first.  At bedtime, I let him his fuss for a little while, and he usually goes to sleep on his own.  However, it cracks me up because I'll lay him down with his head facing East on one side of the crib.  Then later, I will go check on his and his head will be facing South West on the completely other side of the crib.  Apparently he's really on the move, but only in secret!  :-)

Ephraim looooooooves attention.  He'll make noises until you look at him and once you do, he'll flash you his big gummy smile.  He also started doing what we call his "happy dance."  He'll shake his head back and forth super fast while flashing a huge smile.  It's pretty much the funniest thing that I've ever seen.  Ephraim seem to be a lover of music.  If he's not happy, he'll often cheer right up if one of his siblings sings to him or if Daddy plays the guitar for his.  At bedtime, I can get his to settle down and relax into sleep by singing softly to him.

Poor buddy has had a rough few weeks lately.  The kids have all been battling this upper respiratory junk for a while.  A couple of weeks ago it developed into a yucky cough.  All of that, plus he's working on his first tooth.  But really other than just before bedtime, he doesn't let it slow him down too much!

Next month, Ephraim will be 6 months and starting solid foods.  Simply unbelievable!

Someone is on the move!

Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'

What?

Uhhh…oops, sorry - my inner Limp Bizkit was showing.  I guess I reverted back to the year 2000 for a minute.  Haha!

On Tuesday, Ephraim FINALLY rolled over for the first time.  He’s been sooooooo close for quite a while.  (For the record – there has been a debate going on in the house for a few weeks.  Russell seems to think that it counts when he rolled over in the bouncer seat.  I said no way because he totally could get some leverage from the side – it only counts when he’s flat on the floor!!  What is this??  His first kid?  Haha!)  Anyway, back to Tuesday.  He rolled for the first time – from flat on the floor – from his back to his belly.  Well today, I left him on the floor in the family room for a minute and when I came back he was in a completely different spot than where he started.  I asked Jameson about it and he said “Ephraim just moved himself.”  So, I watched him for a while.

He would roll from his back to his belly, play for a bit, and then roll from his belly to his back, play for a bit – rinse and repeat.  Well, apparently that little booger knows how to roll both ways!  He will now roll pretty consistently from his back to his belly, but will roll less frequently from his belly to his back.  Sometimes he’ll sit there, get frustrated and cry – even though he has done it before!  Oh well, I know that it won’t be too long before he’s completely mobile!!

I’m going places, Mama!

Ephraim is 4 months!

Let’s see what’s new…Ephraim is getting stronger and stronger every day.  He can consistently hold his head up.  When he’s agreeable to doing tummy time, he’s able to keep his head up and push his chest up.  He’s much more likely to do tummy time if his brother and/or sister join him.

Ephraim has had a few instances where he cries inconsolably and becomes very clingy.  While I love me some baby snuggles, it makes it quite difficult to get anything done around here!  We’re not sure if it’s teeth or the cold that we’re all battling.  Whatever it is, I just hope that it passes soon!  Unfortunately, he seems to know when Russell and I get a date night out because that’s when he really puts on a show!  Dearest Ephraim, I love you, but your mommy needs a night out from time to time for her own sanity!!

At Ephraim’s 4 month appt, the only milestone that his pediatrician asked about that he hadn’t hit yet was rolling over.  He’s super close, but that’s an awful lot of body to move!  I’m sure it’s only a matter of days.  He weighed in at 17.11 lbs (91%), 25.5” long (69%), and head circumference of 17.25” (86%).  As you can see, my buddy is still a big guy – though his height percentile is dropping a bit (shocking, right?). 

Dr. Zimmerman did diagnose Ephraim with laryngomalacia or “floppy vocal chords.”  It’s generally a benign condition.  The soft, immature cartilage of the upper larynx collapses inward during inhalation – which just means that he’s noisy.  He always has a bit of a wheezy sound when he’s breathing and when he gets excited he makes this ADORABLE squeaky sound.  In fact, Dr. Zimmerman says that they call children with this “happy squeakers.”  His breathing seems fine, which is the only real concern, but we do need keep an eye on him for sleep apnea.  And, in most of the cases, the babies grow out of it by the time they are 1 or 2.

Ephraim is 3 months!

As you can see, Ephraim continues to be the linebacker in the family.  :-)  When he’s not eating or sleeping, he loves to smile at everyone.  If you’re really lucky, you’ll get an adorable little giggle out of him.  Here’s a little secret…his toes are ticklish!!  He watches his siblings in awe.  You can tell that he’s counting the days until he can run and jump and climb with them.  The kids are excited for Ephraim to be able to play with them as well.

Ephraim is able to hold his head up on a regular basis now.  He loves looking around and taking everything in.  He generally enjoys tummy time and he’s getting pretty close to rolling over!  He’s starting to sleep in longer increments – as many as 6 hours at a time!!  He’s also starting to babble a little bit.  The boy has a lot to say!

Ephraim loves bath time, snuggles, and smiling.  He gets so happy during diaper changes.  He just smiles and kicks his little feet.  If he’s starting to get fussy, the best way to calm him down is to have his siblings sing him a song!  He’s just an adorable, happy little guy!!

Ephraim is 2 months!

Happy 2 month birthday, Ephraim!  As you can see, our little guy is really filling out!  He loves the usual – eating and sleeping.  Haha!  Little Ephraim is such a cuddler!  He gives the best snuggles!  We are starting to get lots of smiles and a few coos.  He is still waking up every 4 hours or so, but he does have a solid bedtime routine – he’s usually ready to go down for the night between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm.  Ephraim is loved by his brother and sister.  They are always talking to him and touching him.  They ask all the time to hold them and little E doesn't seem to mind the attention!

Delilah 18 months

It's such a strange juxtaposition - In some ways it is unbelievable that Delilah has been here for an entire year and a half, but in other ways it's unbelievable that she hasn't always been with us.

My little baby is NOT a baby anymore! She is a walking, talking (screaming, running, climbing...) toddler. A full-blown TODDLER! She is still infatuated with her older brother. She copies just about everything he does. It is the sweetest thing to see the two of them interact. Jameson will grab Delilah's hand to lead her somewhere and it melts my heart, every time.

Delilah has been talking for a while, but today, on her 18 month birthday, she had a language explosion! She's been saying Dada, Mama, duck, and cat for a while, but really only when asked or mimicking us. But today she was independently talking - asking for water, she found a bubble wand and said bubble, and then some of her favorites: off, on, cat, etc!

Delilah is truly fearless and shows her independence more and more everyday. Her favorite pastime is to climb up on the arm of the couch and jump to the seat and sometimes she'll continue on to the pillows that she has pushed on t the floor. She can climb on to every chair that we have in the house and recently discovered that she can reach the doorknobs to open the doors. She likes to play hide-and-seek and shhhhhhhhhhhhh, her favorite hiding place is in the laundry room. :-)

Delilah continues to be enamoured by her big brother. She follows him around and imitates his every move. I know at some point he will likely get annoyed by it, so I am cherishing the fact that it doesn't seem to phase him right now. Right now he's enjoying her attention. They are always giving hugs, kisses and high fives! And don't get me wrong, they do fight, but Delilah isn't afraid to put up a fight. When she gets mad, I pretty sure you can hear her shrieking from 3 houses away! :-)

So, happy half birthday to my brilliant, beautiful, and wonderful diva!

Delilah 1 year

Well, here we are. It has been an entire year since my sweet little princess was born. It doesn't even seem possible! I know, I know...I say this every month, but I'm serious this time!! I went through the entire year pointing out all of baby D's firsts. And I guess it didn't REALLY hit me until Valentine's Day. February 14th, 2011, Delilah's very first Valentine's day. You know, the day before her very first birthday! Now, I do realize that there will be more firsts in her lifetime, but during the first year, EVERYTHING is a first. ::Sniff:: At this point with Jameson, we had already started talking about trying for another baby, but we're just not to that point yet. Not much longer though - what am I going to do when I'm done having babies?? :-) Anyway, I seem to have gotten off track of the purpose of this post...

My sweet little one year old is less and less like a baby and more like a toddler every day. She is walking!! Consistently. She is an expert stair climber. She thinks everything is funny and lets all of us know by her hilarious "ha ha" (pronounced just like that!). She likes playing with her big brother...when he's being nice to her, that is. :-) She is still a mama's girl, but it's getting better. She is an excellent eater, in fact, on most days she out-eats Jameson!! She is a sweet little cuddly girl who will snuggle up for a hug or lean in for a kiss (even if it's open-mouthed!).

This morning Russell, Jameson and I (We let the princess sleep in on her birthday) got up at 6:30am to see little Miss Delilah in her TV debut:

Then we visited Girls Inc (you know, since I took the day off! Haha!) to show the kids off. Then it was lunch at Gandolfo's and dinner with Nana Sandy and Papa Bruce at Fuddruckers. Delilah was treated to a HUGE brownie sundae...which she kindly shared with the rest of us! All-in-all it was a very good day!

I have enjoyed learning all about you this past year and I look forward to many, MANY more!!

11 Months!

Holy Moly, 11 months! I KNOW I say this every month, but we all know what the next birthday will be. My baby won't be a baby anymore, she'll be a 1-year old!! That just doesn't seem possible! I can distinctly remember this time last year. My C-section date had been scheduled, so I knew she would be here no later than 2/15 (which is her birthday), we were busy getting things ready to meet our little lovebug, and we were just anxious to meet our little girl.

This year, we have a blossoming young lady. She is becoming so much more social. She can wave 2 ways - by opening and closing her hand and by waving it from side to side. She can give kisses and blows kisses. But, she doesn't blow the traditional kiss, she will stick one or two fingers in her mouth to get a good smacking sound. I posted earlier about Delilah taking her first steps. Well, now she's able to take about 7 in a row! And she can stand up on her own and she'll initiate walking on her own! I know any day now she's going to take off running!

Delilah is STILL in love with her brother. She just thinks he's the funniest person she's ever met. They've started playing together a little bit. So long as Jameson is being nice, they get along pretty well. Delilah loves to give her brother hugs and kisses!

Delilah is becoming such a big girl, that she has pretty much shunned baby food! She wants table food!! Specifically whatever I'm eating. :-) She is doing really well and will pretty much eat anything I give her...except yogurt. I guess she doesn't like yogurt.

Let the Christmas celebrations begin!!

We started our Christmas celebrations at Papa Terry and Mama O's house. It is so nice to have EVERYONE together. Man, our family has gotten big! :-) It was a fun day. The kids played for a while until it was time to open presents. The kids were, of course, spoiled! But, the adult we're pretty spoiled too. We are all invited to go on a Disney cruise as a family as our Christmas gift this year. I'm pretty excited for that!! So, after we opened gifts, the kids all wanted to play with their new toys. Jameson was pretty engrossed in his new Percy train set. We took out annual "elf" photo. D wasn't too impressed:

This is a stage we're going through. Delilah isn't happy unless I'm holding her. Hopefully it passes quickly... :-) We all ate pizza for lunch and hung out for a while. Well, except Russell, who was napping - shocking, I know. Although, in his defense, he only got a few hours of sleep.

After we left Lake Manawa, we headed to Lincoln to celebrate with Russell's family. Jameson was so excited to show his trains to Gigi! We had a good time with the Lincoln family. We ate too much and laughed at all of the funny things that the kids did. The most exciting thing that happened while we were in Lincoln is that Delilah took her first steps!! She has been cruising for quite a while and I knew she would venture out before too long. So, Russell and I sat and tried to coax her to walk between us and the little stinker did!! Fortunately, Russell's uncle was filming at the time, so now I just need to get a copy for that tape!! Exciting stuff happening over here!

10 Months!

My little baby is getting so big! Wow, 10 months! Delilah is changing every day. She is talking more and more. Last month, I was complaining that she wouldn't say "Mama." Oh man, I take that back! "Mama" has become the all purpose word. It means: more food, I'm tired, I'm bored, Dad's picking on me, HEY! Pay attention to me... :-) I guess she's figured out who to call to get her needs met! Haha!

Jameson and Delilah are interacting more and more. He still enjoys pushing her down, but he will also play with his baby sister "Dewawa." He takes care of his little sister...kind of. I hear "Baby wants more cereal" (or some snack food) all the time. And, yes, J will help himself to whatever they are eating, but he does share. D is still just enamoured with her big brother. She just lights up when he pays attention to her. It makes me heart swell!

Delilah's tastes seem to be changing and maturing. If I try to hold her over with something like cereal or Goldfish crackers, she seems to get tired of them. She has been eating more and more table food. She even tried cheese the other day. She liked it! She still is a good eater!

Delilah 9 months!

Delilah is 9 months old. It seems pretty unbelievable! I remember thinking when she turned 3 months that she was 1/4 of a year old and now she has 1/4 of a year left to go!! She is acting less and less like a baby and more like a person every day! She is such a funny little girl. She can play peek-a-boo all by herself. She is crawling and cruising all over the place! She is even able to maneuver under things, for example the coffee table, and she is getting into everything!! She is very curious.

I still think her favorite person is Jameson. She just laughs at everything he does...until he makes her cry, that is. :-) She squeals and screams all the time. She makes these little, almost growling noises when she's playing with Daddy, I call them gremlin noises. She is talking more. I hear Da da da and yeah yeah yeah all the time. And I swear she is saying "Hi Dada." But, when I say "Mama?" she responds by laughing! It's not a joke, little girl!! :-)

She has a big appetite! She eats a whole container of baby food and is still hungry! So, we started giving her table food in addition to the baby food. She is loving it! I think her favorite is Cheerios, but she's had peas, cut up green beans, banana pieces, sweet potato pieces, squash pieces, and cut up peaches. And she didn't seem to complain one bit!

To celebrate Delilah's 9 month birthday, she got to watch the family eat at Cheesecake factory. Oh, they did bring a few bananas on a plate for her. And Nana Sandy joined us for dinner, because it's her birthday too! (Happy birthday, Nana Sandy!) :-)

Good morning, Sunshine!

This is what I saw this morning when I went to get D. I guess she figured out that she is able to pull herself up now!

8 months!

Time is going by so fast! Eight months already! I think I say this every month, but Delilah's personality is really coming out. She is our little comedienne at the dinner table. She loves a good game of "monkey-see, monkey-do." She likes to alternate between slapping her hand down on the tray of her highchair, looking straight up and then back down, and laying her head to the side. It is the funniest thing! She loves when we all imitate her and laugh with her!

She likes standing. Her new favorite toy is the activity table. She loves pushing the buttons and watching the lights. She does a little bit of stepping and bouncing in place when she's standing. It almost looks like she's dancing! She *can* pull herself up, but I'm not sure that she realizes that she can do it yet. I don't think it will be too long though.

She is still doing her low crawl. She will get up on her hands and knees, rock a little bit, and then collapse on her stomach and pull herself along. She also appears to be doing some yoga. She gets up on her feet with her hands on the floor in a downward-facing dog position. She also loves using the raking motion with her hand. Anything you put her hand on, she'll start raking her fingers back and forth. In fact, she has taken 3 keys off my laptop!

Delilah continues to be enamoured with her big brother. He can get her to laugh harder than her Daddy and I!! He is such a good helper with her...for the most part. :-) Jameson is always looking out for baby D. For example, when I'm leaving for work, I'll give everyone a kiss and Jameson will say "And baby kiss?".

Oh and Delilah has a 8 month birthday gift for herself - her front teeth! She's been working on them for a couple of days now. Poor baby, these teeth have been really hard on her.

Define crawling...

Delilah has been trying to move for quite sometime now. She would stretch out her arms as far as they would reach. She would try to push her feet into the ground. And watch out - if she could find something to push off from with her feet, she could really launch herself. I've seen her up rocking on her hands and knees twice. So, I thought we still had a little bit of time before she would be racing around.

The other day, Russell called me into the room to show me that she was pushing off her toes to move herself. Well, today I set her on the ground near my feet and she evidently saw a toy across the room that she wanted because she took off! She wasn't up on her hands and knees, so I guess she's actually scooting? She's pushing off with her toes and pulling with her arms. But she was determined and made it the 10 feet across the room like it was nothing!! Way to go, baby girl!

Jameson 2.5 year appt

Jameson had a doctors appointment on Monday. We got to see Dr. Zimmerman because she is back from her maternity leave!! I'm not sure if this is a normal appointment or to track his talking (or lack there of). We've been working on sentences the last few weeks. Instead of just "wa-wa, please" or "car, please" or whatever he's asking for, I've been working "I want wa-wa, please." And it seems that he's figured it out!

So, back to his appointment. This was the second time that I braved taking both kids on my own. We got there on time, which was a feat in and of itself. Once we checked in, Jameson immediately bypassed the TV and ran over to the books (saying "Book! Book!"), I was so proud! The nursed called us back pretty much right away (which is amazing on a Monday morning!). The nurse weighed and measured him. They now weigh him on the big scale and measure him against the wall. They did this at his 2 year appointment, but it still surprises me that he's such a big boy! He weighed 29.6 lbs and was 35 inches tall.

The nurse took us to the room. She asks some questions and then leaves. Then I start filling out the packet they gave me. I had to ask him to practice a few of the skills. I learned that he can repeat two random numbers out of order (like two, five). I also learned that the next skill we need to work on is fine motor drawing skills. :-) While I'm completing the questionnaire, Jameson is playing around the room. He is opening and closing every drawer. He then decides that he wants to be up on the exam table. So he starts saying "Help me up, please." Yay! So, I included that as an example of a sentence!

So Dr. Zimmerman comes in and starts checking Jameson's eyes, ears, throat, stomach, etc. Everything looks normal. She asks about his last and next appointments for his foot. She commented that there is still some curvature to the foot (I told her that Dr. Sheehan said he will likely always have that) but that he has the range of movement to put it back to normal (which is most important). She then went through and scored the questionnaire. Now, keep in mind that Jameson was below average on the last assessment and she's been threatening to recommend early intervention for probably a year now. She would set a goal and deadline for Jameson and he would just barely meet that goal. So, she went through and said that Jameson is now above average in communication. Did you hear me??? ABOVE AVERAGE!!!!! You have no idea what a relief that was to hear! :-) Really, the only area he was a little low on was the fine motor skills (drawing), but she said that was still in the normal range! Yay!

And, as if that wasn't good enough to hear... Jameson was showing off all of his skills. He counted, said his colors, did some animal noises, and spelled his name. And she said to Jameson "Your mommy is running things like a pre-school." That was quite the stroke to the ego. :-) So, all in all, it was a positive experience. However, I was told that they reformulated one of the immunizations that Jameson had previously received to include 6 new strains, so he will need a booster. But, I scheduled that for the same time as his flu shot, so hopefully that won't be too traumatic.

While we're on the subject of Jameson, there is some big news in our house. On bath night, I generally ask Jameson if he wants to sit on the potty. He usually sits on it, pretends to push something out, hops off and gets in the tub. On Sunday, he sat on the toilet and immediately started peeing. I started cheering so loudly that Russell (who happened to be home) came in to see what the commotion was about. We made a big deal about it and have been talking about it ever since. Well, tonight was bath night again, so of course I asked if he wanted to try to go potty before getting into the bath. And, again, he peed right away!! He was so proud of himself for being like Mommy and Daddy! We're not going to officially try potty training until Russell switches shifts. We think that will be easier because he'll be on a much more regular schedule rather than spending one day here, two days there, one day somewhere else... But, yay Jameson!!!!

7 months old!

Can you believe it?? I can't! We're over halfway to Delilah's first birthday. :-( My little cuddly girl's personality is coming out more and more everyday! She definitely is a little diva. If she's upset about something, she is not afraid to let you know! She can go from a smiling and happy to a shrieking with tears running down her cheeks in 0.2 seconds. :-) She has really, REALLY enjoyed her first month of solid foods. So far, she has tried rice and oatmeal cereal, as well as sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, peas, green beans, and apples. She love it all! She wants to try everything and she is so strong! If you're holding something like a cup, she will grab it and pull it toward her mouth. You have to be very careful because she just might pull whatever it is out of your hands!!!

She also is very interested in the items that we have in the pockets on the changing table. As soon as you lay her down, she is already rolling over to grab anything she can reach. Her new trick is to bang things - specifically on her highchair tray. She might just pound on it with her hand or use a toy. It is so fun to watch her use intentional movements! She will do it and then watch for your reaction. She loves making people laugh - especially her big brother! They're relationship is getting more fun to watch everyday. Jameson likes playing peek-a-boo with his sister and singing to her. Delilah revels in the attention from her big brother.

First Word?

Well, it depends on who you ask. :-) *I* say she's just babbling, but Russell insists that she's saying Dada. But, if I remember correctly, we had the same argument - but opposite positions - when Jameson started saying "Mamamama." I know I say it over and over, but I just can't get over how DIFFERENT these two are! For the record, if D is talking, this is about a month earlier than I have for when J started talking. Of course, we all know he was busy working on other stuff before he started talking. :-)

6 Months old!!!!

My sweet little funny girl is 6 months old today! I know, I can't believe it either! I remember that it seemed like forever before we could introduce Jameson to solids, but this time around, I find myself saying...already?!? Her funny little personality is definitely coming out. She is "talking" a lot more. She is always babbling and laughing. It makes me so happy when all I have to do is look at her and she cracks up. It brings me such joy to see that big grin on her face and her little tooth peeking through. She continues to look up to her big brother and he has so much fun finding ways to make her laugh!

She is such a good little sleeper! I never realized how difficult Jameson was to get to bed until little D came along. If you had told me a year or so ago (when I was pregnant with D) how easy bedtime would be these days, I would not have believed you! Delilah is pretty scheduled in regards to bedtime. And when she's ready for bed, she will let you know! There were quite a few days (especially when I was pregnant) that I did not have the energy to put J to bed. So, I'd let him stay up until Russell got home from work (10:30 or 11). And he was still running around at that time. But, these days I HAVE to put D to bed between 8:30 and 9:30 and J may not even be showing signs of being tired. He will see me rocking D to sleep and suddenly he's ready for bed too. That works better than any other bedtime routine we've tried

Sleepless in Omaha!

So, in my last post I mentioned Jameson being a sneezing, coughing, mucusy mess. Well I may have left out the part about him not sleeping. Saturday night (Sunday morning?) he woke screaming and pointing to his head. That night he woke himself up several more times whimpering, I ended up sleeping in his bed with him. I *think* I ended up with a grand total of 3 hours of sleep that night. The following nights he would keep me up with his coughing, so I'm sure he didn't sleep restfully. I was paranoid that the coughing would result in him throwing up because he has a tendency to do that. Tuesday morning, after the third night of little to no sleep I made Jameson a doctor's appointment. I was nervous about that because our usual pediatrician is on maternity leave and I had never met the doctor with whom we were scheduled. The appointment went alright, but I do prefer our regular pediatrician. :-) So, it turns out that Jameson had his very first sinus infection and was starting to get an ear infection. I have to say, I think it's pretty amazing that we went nearly 2.5 years without an ear infection! If you knew my history, you would agree! Unfortunately, this is probably not the last sinus or ear infection he will ever get, but on the bright side he was prescribed some Amoxicillin. You know, the delicious pink kind. Russell and I shared memories of taking it when we were younger. Russell keeps threatening to drink it!! Jameson seems to the feeling a lot better and I think he actually got some sleep last night!

However...

little Delilah woke up SCREAMING around 11 or 12 last night. She has always been such a good sleeper, so this was definitely out of the ordinary for my poor baby girl. She was content if I was nursing her and even afterwards, I could rock her and she would sleep. But the minute I got up she was screaming again. :-( I suspected that something was going on, so I felt on her gums and sure enough I felt a little rough patch. Delilah cut her first tooth! We had one dose of Tylenol in the house last night, so we gave her that and she finally settled in for what remained of the night. And I went out this afternoon to restock our Tylenol supply!

I never cease to be astounded by the difference in my two children already! Jameson cut his first tooth at 4 month and his came in two at a time. Delilah is 5.5 months and only has one so far. She's getting her teeth just in times to start solids in the next few weeks!
